If time varying magnetic field is in z-direction as given by question, then we write the equation for magnetic field
 
Bz = Bo sin(ky - ω t)................(1)
 
Where Bo is amplitude, k is wave vector and ω is angular frequency
 
if we compare with the given equation for electromagnetic wave,  Bz = 10-8 sin [ 2y + (6×108)t ] ................. (2)
 
Amplitude Bo = 10-8 T , k = 2 m-1 and  ω = 6 × 108 rad/s .
 
Positive sign in the phase angle indicates wave propagation is in -y direction.
 
Hence electric field is in +x-direction. Amplitude of electric field = E0 = Bo × c = 10-8 × 3 × 108 = 3 V
 
hence time varying electric field  Ex = 3 sin [ 2y + (6×108)t ]  .............................. (3)
