 A tin maker converts a cubical metallic box into 10 cylundrical tins. Side of the cube is 50 cm and radius of the cylinder is 7 cm. Find the height of each cylinder so made if the wastage of 12% in the process.

Side of the cube= 50cm
radius of cylinders= 7cm
wastage= 12%
No. of cylinders made= 10
Volume of a cube= a3= (50)3= 125000cm3
12% wastage= 12/100×125000
volume of 10 cylinders= 15000cm3
volume of one cylinder= 15000/10
volume of one cylinder= 1500cm3
1500= πr2h
1500= 22/7×7×7×h
1500/154= h
h= 9.7402 cm
therefore, the height of one cylinder is 9.74 cm (aaprox)
