Given velocity begin mathsize 14px style square root of 3 space g space L end root end style is maximum velocity at lowest position of particle.
Then maximum height h reached by particle is obtained by equating maximum kinetic energy to maximum potential energy.
 
(1/2) m v2 = m g h   or  h  = v2 / g 
 
hence maximum height reached by particle,  h = (3 g L )/ g  = 3L
