(a) Embryo sac of a flowering plant.
(b) Functional megaspore.
The nucleus of the functional megaspore divides mitotically to form two nuclei which move to opposite poles and form the 2-nucleate embryo sac.
(c) Egg: Fuses with the male gamete to form zygote or the future embryo.
Synergid: Absorption of nutrients, attracts and guides the pollen tube.
Central cell: After fusion with the second male gamete, it forms the primary endosperm cell which gives rise to the endosperm.
