'Info Park Ltd.', a public company dealing with Accounting softwares wants to change their name to I'nfo Solutions Ltd.'.Is it possible? If so,what are the procedures to be followed for effecting this change in the name?

Yes, the company can change its name from 'Info Park Ltd.' to I'nfo Solutions Ltd provided that the new name of the company is not identical to the name of any other company and fullfills all the criteria laid down under the Companies Act. The name of the company can be changed by alteration of name clause present in the Memorandum of Association. The company needs to pass a special resolution and also obtain the approval of Central Government (in certain cases). The company also needs to file an E-form with the ROC for approval of the name.
