Work done against the gravity by taking  a 10kg block to height 1m in 1sec will be?here why we take external force equal to mg

answered-by-expert Expert Answer
workdone = Force × distance = mg × h = 10×9.8×1 = 98 J

m = mass of load, g = acceleration due to gravity, h = distance

power = Rate of workdone = 98 J / 1 s = 98 W

work is done to lift the 10 kg load against gravitational force .
Gravitational force acting on a mass m is m×g
