Women are paid less compared to men. Why?

Women are paid less compared to men as there is a gender bias existing in the society. Women are also supposed to look after home, childcare and elder members of the house and thus, people tend to think that they would not be able to give their best in their professional roles and hence get paid less. There are several other reasons too like there are more men in senior roles than women. Also, at times women opt to choose flexible timings compared to higher-paying jobs.
