why stomata are important for the leaves ??

Plants do not have lungs for breathing. Exchange of gases in plants occuts through tiny openings on the surface of leaves called stomata.
Also, the removal ofexcess of water through transpiration occurs through stomata.
Hence, stomata are important for leaves.
