Expert Answer
Nucleoproteins are proteins which are structurally associated with nucleic acids, either DNA or RNA. These nucleoproteins include ribosomes, nucleosomes, and viral nucleocapsid proteins. Since these particles contains nuclear material which determines the functioning of a cell, often nucleoprotein particles are considered as free living genes.
