Expert Answer:
Jammu and Kashmir was a state that was given a special status in the Indian constitution in order to be able to maintain their regional and cultural identities.
However, please note that Article 370 which provided a special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir was revoked in 2019 and the state was divided into 2 Union Territories- Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. These are now directly governed by the Central government.
So now, Jammu and Kashmir does not enjoy a special status in Indian federal system.
