Why a throbbing sensation is felt on wrist,side of the neck and heart ?

When the ventricles of the heart pump blood into the arteries, the arteries distend or swell. When the arteries distribute the blood to the body organs, they ease and relax. This relaxation of the arteries is felt as a throbbing sensation on the wrist, side of the neck and temples. The throbbing sensation is called pulse.
