What is Thermolytic decomposition reaction?

Thermal decomposition, or thermolytic decomposition, or thermolysis, is a type of chemical decomposition caused by heat.
The reactions are usually endothermic as heat is required to break chemical bonds in the compound undergoing decomposition.
For example: On heating green crystals of ferrous sulphate, it breaks up into ferric oxide, sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide.
