what is the difference between the names- methyl alcohol and methanol? are they same? and all other examples like ethyl alcohol and ethanol , etc. are same?

Expert Answer
Methyl alcohol is common name of compound with chemical formula CH3OH where as Methanol is the IUPAC name of the same compound.
Similarly ethyl alcohol is the common name of ethanol.
