what is the area bounded by the following curve and straight line?

Sorry for the earlier , incorrect response
To find the point where The curve and the line intersect: 3 - x = x ^2 - 1
i.e x^2 + x -4 =0
x = (-1 17)/2
So the area above the x axis between the crve and the line is
Integral of (3- x ) between (-1-17)/2 to (-1+17)/2.
Now add the mod of the integral of (x ^2 - 1 ) between -1 and +1 .
