Expert Answer:

Galvanization is a method of protecting steel and iron from rusting by coating them with a thin layer of zinc. When metal is going to be used in an environment where corrosion is likely, it is often galvanized so that it will be able to withstand the conditions.

When iron is mixed with nickel and chromium, we get stainless steel, which is hard and does not rust. Steel can also be galvanized. Galvanized steel is more preferred from anticorrosion point of view.
