NEET Class neet Answered

what happen to the kinetic energy when  moment of inertia is double in rotetional motion

Let I0 and ω0 be the initial moment of inertia and initial angular velocity respectively.

when moment of inertia is doubled, due to conservation of angular momentum, angular velocity is halved.

hence final kinetic energy = 2 I0 × (ω0 /2)2 = (1/2) I0 ω02 = half of initial kinetic energy
