Sperm is the male haploid gamete which joins to an ovum to form a zygote. They carry the paternal genetic information.
Spermatozoa are produced in the seminiferous tubules of the testes. The process of sperm formation is called spermatogenesis. Round cells called spermatogonia divide and differentiate eventually to become sperms. The division involved here is meiosis.
