Water is flowing through acylindrical pipe of internal diameter 2cm, into a cyclindrical tank of base radius 40 cm, at the rate of 0.4 m per second.Determine the rise in level of water in the tank in half an hour.

Given, internal radius of pipe=1cm
Rate=0.4m/s=40cm/s
Quantity of liquid passed in 1 sec=πr²h=22/7*1*1*40=880/7 cm³
Quantity ot liquid passed in 1/2hrs i.ei, 30min
=(880/7*1800)cm³
Volume of tank filled in 1/2hrs=π*(40)²*h
volume of tank filled in 1/2hrs=Quantity of water passed through the pipe in 1/2hrs
22/7*(40)²*h=880/7*1800
Thus,h=45 cm
