Let the increase in the water level in half an hour be 'a' cm
Volume of cylinder = πr squared straight h
r = 1 cm and h = 7 m = 700 cm
Water is flowing at the rate of 7 m/s
Volume space of space water space in space 1 space second equals 22 over 7 cross times 1 cross times 1 cross times 700 equals 2200 space cm cubed
Half space an space hour space equals space 30 space minutes space equals space 30 cross times 60 space equals space 1800 space seconds
In space half space an space hour comma space water space flow space will space be space 1800 cross times 2200 equals 3960000 space cm cubed
Volume space of space water space in space the space tank space after space half space an space hour
equals space Volume space of space cylindrical space tank space with space radius space of space base space 40 space cm space and space height space straight a space cm
equals 22 over 7 cross times 40 cross times 40 cross times straight a
rightwards double arrow 3960000 equals 22 over 7 cross times 40 cross times 40 cross times straight a
rightwards double arrow straight a equals 787.5
