The volume of a sphere can be derived using integration(calculus).

In finding the volume by integration what we basically do is divide the whole sphere is infinitely many thin discs each with a small height dx and an area pie*r2 where r varies for all th discs. We can easily calculate the volume of such a disc by using the formula volume = height*surface area. To find the volume of the whole sphere we need to add the areas of all the small sections which we do with the help of integration.
