Let e is charge on electron, E is electric field and m is mass of electron.

acceleration = Force /mass = eE/m = (e/m)×E = 1.758×1011 ×1.2×10-5  m/s2

if electron is accelerated from rest, then time taken t to travel a dsitance S is given by,

t = begin mathsize 12px style square root of fraction numerator 2 S over denominator a end fraction space end root space equals space square root of fraction numerator 2 cross times 20 cross times 10 to the power of negative 3 end exponent over denominator 1.758 cross times 1.2 cross times 10 to the power of 6 end fraction end root space space almost equal to space 1.38 cross times 10 to the power of negative 4 end exponent space s end style
