We know that perimeter square is the sum of the lengths of its sides. A square has four sides and they are equal in length.
The perimeter of square = sum of the lengths of all four sides
= 4 times the length of a side of a
Square
= 4 x l = 4l.
We may take the perimeter also to be represented by a variable, say p.
Therefore, length of the square, p= 4l
