The difference between the compound interest and the simple interest on a certain sum at the rate of 15% per annum for 3 years is ₹283.50. Find the sum.

n = 3 years, r = 15% p.a. and
difference between compound and simple interest = Rs. 283.50

straight P open parentheses open parentheses 1 plus 15 over 100 close parentheses cubed minus 1 minus fraction numerator 3 cross times 15 over denominator 100 end fraction close parentheses equals 283.50
Simplifying space we space get space straight P equals Rs. space 4000 end style
