The amplitude comes out to be 2 in the following question but the answer provided is C according to me A should be the correct answer please explain the concept

Your answer that amplitude A = 2 cm is correct
 
If Amplitude A < 2 cm, then the maximum force during vibration F < k A  or  F < 500 × 2×10-2   or  F <  10 N .
 
Hence this force F < 10 N can not lift the 1 kg mass whose weight is 10 N
