Let A(x1 , y1)  and B(x1 , -y1) be the double ordinate and C (x1,y2 ) be the tri-section point.
 
By section formula, we have y2 = (-y1 + 2 y1 )/(1+2)   or y2 = (1/3) y1 
 
y22 =  ( y12 / 9 )  or  9 y22 = y12  or  9 y22 = 4a x1 .................(1)
 
Locus of trisection point is obtained by dropping the suffix,   9 y2 = 4 a x
