For refraction at spherical surface, we have,  begin mathsize 12px style mu over v minus 1 over u equals fraction numerator mu minus 1 over denominator R end fraction end style   .................(1)
where μ is refractive index of spherical medium, v is image distance from pole,
u is object distance from pole and R is radius of curvature.

we have μ = 1.5, v = R+(32/3) cm ,  u = -6 cm

By substituting the values in eqn.(1), we get , begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator 1.5 over denominator R plus begin display style 32 over 3 end style end fraction space plus space 1 over 6 space equals space fraction numerator 0.5 over denominator R end fraction end style   ...............(2)
By solving eqn.(2), we get R ≈ 1.74 cm
