Perpendicular distance from vertex (-3,0) to directrix x+5 =0  is  2 units.
 
Hence perpendicular distance from focus to vertex = 2 units, hence coordinates of focus is (-2,0)
 
Hence equation of parabola :  y2 = 4(2)(x+3)  or   y2 = 8(x+3)
