When a>0 and b>0
then we get a+b+2=a+1+b+1=|a+1|+|b+1|=|a|+|b|=a+b which is not true
So, this case is not possible
Similarly, when a<0 and b<0, |a+1|+|b+1|=|a|+|b| does not hols
So, this is also not possible
Also, a=0 or b=0 is not possible
When a>0 anc b<0,
a-b=|a|+|b|=|a-1|+|b-1|=|a-1|-b+1
implies |a-1|=a-1
Therefore,
Also, a-b=|a|+|b|=|a+1|+|b+1|=a+1+|b+1|
Therefore, |b+1|=-(b+1)
Therefore,
Hence,
Thus, the minimum value of a-b is 2.
