Role of pollination
Asked by | 3rd Jun, 2009, 08:57: PM
Pollination is the first step towards sexual reproduction, resulting in the production of offsprings that are genetically diverse. It is an essential event in the life-cycle of a flowering plant. The flower will normally not produce fruits and seeds until it is pollinated and fertilized.
Pollination leads to stimulation and germination of pollen grains toproduce male gametes. It helps to bring the male and female gametes closer for fertilization.
