i. (a) We also visited Delhi during the winter vacations.
   (b) We have visited Delhi also during the winter vacations.

In sentence (a), the adverb 'also' before the verb 'visited' indicates that Delhi was one of the places they visited during the winter vacation.
In sentence (b), the adverb 'also' begore 'during' indicates that Delhi is one of the places they have visited during the winter vacations.

ii. (a) We rather like to swim early in the morning.
    (b) We would rather swim in the morning.

In sentence (a), the adverb 'rather' before the verb 'like' explains that they prefer to swim early in the morning. (rather like to swim when?)
In sentence (b), the adverb 'rather' before the verb 'swim' explains that they prefer to swim in the morning. (rather swim when?)

TIP: Note the position of the adverb and the verb it talks more about.
