The problem is not in the calculation but in the interpretation
Probability of an event being 1/8000 does not mean that if you buy 8000 tickets you will get one prize for sure,but the chances of a person can getting a prize is 1/8000.
The way we say that there are 50% chances of getting a head when a coin is tossed that does not mean if you toss the coin twice you will get a head.
