Power P of a wave propagation in stretched string is given by,
P = (1/2)μω2 A2 v .........................(1)
where μ = linear mass density ( kg/m )
ω = angular frequency (rad/s)
A = amplitude (m)
v = speed of wave (m/s)
Speed of wave in stretched string , v = ( T/μ )1/2 or μ = ( T / v2 ) ......................(2)
Substituting for μ using eqn.(2), eqn.(1) for power is rewritten as, P = (1/2) ( T / v2 )ω2 A2 v = ( ω2 A2 T) / (2v)
