answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Because of the following reasons, red soil is suitable for agriculture:
It is porous and has a high percentage of iron oxide.
In general, red soil is found to be shallow and its pH value ranges from 6.6 to 8.0.
It is loose and aerated and is poor in terms of the quantity of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and organic matter
It may not be fertile, but it does respond to fertilisers.
Irrigation support is required if it is to be cultivated.
