speed of sound v = vo [( T+273)/273]1/2  ..................(1)

where vo is speed of sound at 0o C and T is temperature in oC

Eqn. (1) can be written as , v = vo [ 1 + (T/546) ]   if (T/273) << 1

using speed of sound value, vo = 330 m/s , above eqn. is written as ,  v = vo + 0.604 T  ....................(2)

from eqn.(2), we get,  d(v-vo) = 0.604 dT

Hence if change in speed of sound is 1% , change in temperature is 0.6 %
