The person in the picture is Ghiyas-ud-din Balban.
He succeeded Nasir-ud-din Mahmud.
Tughril Khan, the governor of Bengal, revolted
against him.
Balban marched to Bengal with a powerful army
to suppress the revolt led by Tughril Khan. The latter with his entire
family was killed and their heads were displayed in the streets. All the
supporters of Tughril Khan were chased and killed.
