How to solve pulley problems

You should ask some specific problem to understand how to solve pulley's problem.
I will explain a standard problem

Figure shows pulley and two masses loaded using a rope of negligibel weight. Mass of pulley also negligible.
Let mass m2 > m1 . Hence m2 is moving down with acceleration a and m1 is moving up with acceleration a.
It is required to find the acceleration a and tension T in the rope.
Forces acting on each block are shown in figure.
If we apply Newtons law to mass m1 :- T - m1 g = m1 a ...................(1)
If we apply Newtons law to mass m2 :- m2 g - T = m2 a ...................(2)
If we add eqn.(1) and eqn.(2), we get (m2 - m1 )g = (m1 + m2)a
or acceleration a = [ (m2 - m1 ) / (m1 + m2) ] g ......................(3)
By substituting acceleration a in eqn.(1), we get T = ( 2 m1 m2 )/( m1 + m2 )
Conclusion :-
We should identify different forces acting on the blocks connected to pully. These forces are weight and Tension in the rope.
Then apply newtons law to get equations. Solve the equations to get the required answer
