Expert Answer
The shape of a cell is often related to the function it performs.
(a) Human white blood cells have to squeeze out through the capillary walls to reach the site of infection. So, they are amoeboid in shape to pass through easily.
(b) Human red blood cells have to pass through narrow capillaries and transport oxygen to each and every part of the body. So, they are circular and biconcave in shape to carry more oxygen.
