Find the cube root of the following numbers by finding their units and tens digits:
1) 512
2) 9261

1) 512
The units digit of 512 is 2. Therefore, the units digit of its cube root is 8.
Since no number is left after striking out the units, tens and hundreds digits of the given number, the required cube root is 8.
Thus,
2) 9261
The units digit of 9261 is 1. Therefore, the units digit of its cube root is 1.
After striking out the units, tens and hundreds digits of the given number, we are left with the number 9.
Now, 23 = 8 < 9 and 33 = 27 > 9
Therefore, the tens digit is 2.
