CBSE Class 9 Answered
FIND a IF (x-a) is a factor of x*x*x-a*a*x+x+2

Expert Answer
f(x) = x*x*x-a*a*x+x+2
To check if (x-a) is a factor of f(x), we can use remainder theorem and if f(a) = 0, then (x-a) is a factor of f(x) else not.
f(a) = a^3 -a^3+a+2 = a+2
which is not equal to zero for all values of a.
Hence, (x-a) is not a factor of f(x)
