here let cos a = 2/(13)1/2    and sin a = 3/(13)1/2

since cos(A-B) = cosA cosB + sinA sinB

so ( 2cosx+3sinx ) / (13)1/2   = cos (x-a)

y = cos-1(cos(x-a)) = x-a

dy/dx = 1    (since a is a constant )
