Expert Answer
D = b2 - 4ac is the equation for finding out Discriminant.
By knowing the discriminant we can comment on the type of roots the equation will have like:
Discriminant > 0 ⇒ Roots are real and unequal
Discriminant = 0 ⇒ Roots are equal and each equal to -b/2a
Discriminant < 0 ⇒ Roots are imaginary and unequal or complex conjugate.
