Dear Student,
i Sodium atom represented by symbol Na is neutral in nature while sodium ion represented by symbol Na+ is a positively charged particle.
ii Sodium atom easily lose an electron to form sodium ion with a complete octet in the outermost shell while soidum ion is already stable with octet so does not lose any more electron.
iii Sodium atom reacts with water vigorously to release hydrogen gas while sodium ion does not react with water.
