5. As the atomic size decreases, the tendency to gain electron increases and electronegativity increases. So P, S and Cl are electronegative elements of periodic table.

6. In group 16, valence electrons in valence shell=6
In group 17, valence electrons in valence shell=7
In group 18, valence electrons in valence shell=8

Zero group means octect is complete and element is in stable state. Ar is having 8 electrons in its valence shell so it is placed in 0 group.

7. In general trends, electronegativity increases with decrease in atomic size. Fluorine is most electronegative because it requires only one electron to complete octet and gain stability and the distance at which the electron reside is minimum as compared to other elements having 7 electrons in outermost orbit. So the valence electrons of fluorine are bound to the atom more strongly than any atom does.
