Let block of mass moves down by a distance h .

Then string length JK increases by h .

Pulley P3 is moved down by distance h , hence string lengths IH and FG are increased by h .

Since string length as shown as E-F-G-H-I-J-K is constant , increases of length JK, IH and FG make string length CF to decreas by 3h .

Hence pulley P1 moves right by distance 3h and length of string AB is shortened by 3h .

Hence block of mass m1 moves by distance 3h

Hence if magnitude of displacement dx of block of mass m1 is 3 times of magnitude dy of block of mass m2

dx = 3 dy

speed of blocks are related as

dx/dt = 3 dy/dt

acceleration of blocks are related as

( d2x / dt2 ) = 3 ( d2y / dt2 )

a1 = 3 a2
