  1. The tilting of the Earth on its axis is known as the inclination of the Earth’s axis.
  2. It is because of the Earth’s tilted axis that days and nights are of varying lengths in different parts of the Earth. The four main seasons on the Earth are also caused due to its inclination. If the Earth’s axis would have been vertical, then days and nights would have been of equal lengths at all places on the Earth and we would have experienced only one season throughout the year.
