Expert Answer:

Distance = Speed x time

Distance travelled in 120 mins (2 hr) at the speed of 30 km/hr
distance = 30 x 2 = 60 km

Distance travelled in 90 mins (1.5 hr) at the speed of 48 km/hr
distance = 48 x 1.5 = 72 km

Total distance = 60 + 72 = 132 km

Average Speed = Total distance / total time
Average Speed = 132/ 3.5 = 37.7 km/hr
