Attenuated sound Intensity β in decibel is given as
β =10 log ( I / Io ) = 20
where I is attenuated intensity ( W / m2 ) and Io is initial unattenuated sound intensity
log ( I / Io ) = 2
( I / Io ) = 102 = 100
Io = (1/100) I
Intensity decreases by a factor (1/100)
