A remarkable fact about india is that while there has been a change in the share of the three sector of GDP, a similar shift has not taken place in employment . The primary sector continues to be the largest employer even in the year 2000. Explain

The primary sector continues to be the largest employer even in the year 2000. This is because:
1. Not enough jobs are created in the secondary and tertiary sector to absorb the workforce.
2. People lack the necessary skills and qualifications that are required in the secondary and tertiary sector.
3. As compared to the other two sectors, the primary sector requires less education and technical skills thus people are able to find some employment.
4. Most of the unemployed people take up activities in primary sector in hope of earning some money for their living
