answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Kinetic energy = Total Energy - Potential energy

Potential energy U of particle exhibiting SHM  is given by,   U = (1/2) k x2 = (1/2) m ω2 x2 ............... (1)

where  m is mass of particle, ω is angular frequency and x is displacement

If displacement is half the amplitude A, then potential energy U = (1/2) m ω2 (A/2)2 = (1/8) m ω2 A2 ............(2)

Kinetic energy = E - (1/8) m ω2 A2
