A merchant buys certain goods at 8640 per quintal and pays 160 per ton for transport expenses
To find: Selling price of per kg so that he gain 12 1/2 on his total outlay
Cost price for 1 quintal = Rs. 8640
Transport expenses = 160 per ton = 16 per quintal
Total cost for 1 quintal goods = Rs. 8656
Gain % = 12 1/2
Gain = 12 1/2 of 8656 = Rs. 1082
Selling price for 1 quintal goods = 8656+1082 = Rs. 9738
Selling price for 1 kg goods = Rs. 97.38
